Our responsibility

We don't see ourselves as a sustainable company – because like any company that makes products, we use resources and cause emissions.

That's why, for us, sustainability isn't a label or a state you reach once and for all – it's a path we move along, step by step.

What that means in practice: we take a close look at our everyday operations and try to improve things wherever we have direct influence. Not perfect, but continuous.

A few examples from our offices:

🌏 Environment

• 100% electricity from renewable energy sources
• Lots of small measures we're gradually building into our daily routine: less paper thanks to digital solutions, working waste separation, timer switches for lights, and reduced use of hygiene and consumable materials through new dispensers, plus kitchen and toilet paper from Goldeimer

💛 Community

• Support for mental health in partnership with Nilo Health
• Flexible working models such as remote work, and three offices where furry friends are welcome too
• A working environment that accounts for different needs – including accessible spaces and gender-neutral bathrooms at our Mannheim office

But responsibility doesn't stop at the office for us. Along our supply chain, we also address social and environmental impacts systematically. We keep developing our materials strategy and regularly check where using recycled materials is technically possible and feasible.

We're also a member of the Fair Wear Foundation and systematically analyse our supply chain and the working conditions at our production partners. Once a year, Fair Wear's Brand Performance Check assesses how we monitor and improve working conditions in our supply chain.

There's no simple yes-or-no answer here. Fair working conditions aren't a state you reach once and for all – they're an ongoing process.

We work with selected production partners and define social and ethical requirements for our collaboration. We're in regular exchange with our partners and continuously develop our internal sourcing processes.

OCEANSAPART has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation since 2025. It helps us spot risks in the supply chain early and derive the right measures from them.

We also draw on external audits – for instance through amfori BSCI or comparable standards – to better understand risks and target improvements more effectively.

Global supply chains are complex. Claiming perfect conditions wouldn't be honest. What matters to us is to keep looking closely, stay transparent, and keep working on our processes step by step.

For us, sustainability isn't a state you reach once and for all, but an ongoing process. Right now, our focus is on creating more transparency in our supply chain and continuing to build out our internal processes.

In concrete terms, that means: we systematically analyse working conditions, materials and environmental impacts in order to derive our next steps from them.

We know this process takes time. That's why it's important to us to stay attentive, keep learning, and act responsibly along the supply chain.
